Brazil has blocked Facebook’s WhatsApp messaging app for two days.
Nearly 93 million WhatsApp users have been blocked by Brazilian court order out of 900 million daily active WhatApp users globally.
Facebook owns WhatsApp. Facebook chief executive officer Mark Zuckerberg said that he was “stunned” by “extreme decision by a single judge to punish every person in Brazil who uses WhatsApp.”
“This is a sad day for Brazil. Brazilians have always been among the most passionate in sharing their voice online,” he wrote.
According to Cityam website, “9 in 10 Brazilian doctors use WhatsApp to talk to patients.”
The reason for WhatsApp ban in Brazil was, the court tried to get access to a suspect’s WhatsApp messages but the company refused to share them.

Telegram had 1.5 million new users from Brazil after the ban of WhatsApp messanger.
